4. Jim James at the McKittrick Hotel (Rdio Exclusive)
Jim James’ first solo record doesn’t do much for me in its studio form. If his name wasn’t on it, I probably wouldn’t have given it much attention. However, as it is with all things Jacket, the second it hits the stage, it is given “A New Life” and really is some of the best stuff you’ll hear this year. The extended jams on “AEIOU” “Dear One” “All Is Forgiven” and “God’s Love to Deliver” are incredible. Kevin Ratterman and Dave Givan are INSANE. And another plus is that I was here for this.
